In front of Yamato-Yagi station in Nara, Japan, there was a department store called "Yamato".
But, it suspended operation to renovate its building. I saw the renewed building today.
What I realized first was that parking lot was newly established on the top of the building.
So, I understand the reason why the department store decided to renovate it. The store must have thought that the main reason of decreasing customers was attributed to lack of parking lot.
I guess more and more retailing stores have to prepare for customers using vehicles to keep up with motorization.
