After four years of work and US$10 billion (S$12.5 billion) in investment, an international expo will open on Saturday at a glittering hi-tech venue on the site of a former dusty cement terminal in South Korea.
A total of 104 nations and 10 international organisations will stage exhibitions over the next three months in the city of Yeosu under the theme of 'The Living Ocean and Coast'.
Organisers hope for about 10 million visitors, including up to 500,000 foreigners mainly from China and Japan, to the small south coast city.
They predict the event will create some 80,000 jobs and bring economic benefits worth 19 trillion won (S$20.8 billion) - outweighing more than 11 trillion won spent on the site and new hotels and upgrading roads and railways.

I would like to go to Yeosu EXPO. But, the problem is the term of this event. It will be held from May 12 to August 12. I won't ensure successive holidays during that term. I guess organizers partly obeyed the system of most of the foreign countries' universities that have summer vacation from June to August.
I think it contradicts the prospected demands. As you see above, " Organisers hope for about 10 million visitors, including up to 500,000 foreigners mainly from China and Japan, to the small south coast city."
Most Japanese universities begin summer vacation from the latter half of July or the former half of August.
In addition to it, most of Chinese universities begin summer vacation from the latter half of June.
So, the best term should be from June to September.
