Why does Ethiopia have to be careful of inbound investment?

edition.cnn.com

As far as obeying law in Ethiopia and International framework, Every country, including People's Republic of China, should be allowed to invest Ethiopia. Though some people say its investment can be the new form of colonization, workers of the Chinese factories are paid to an extent, and it boosts Ethiopian economy to the extent that the country records rapid growth of GDP. It means real economy is also flourishing.
But, judging from the fact that Ethiopia is now economically attractive because of low wage and minimum safety, economic growth will stop after average wage of the country is equal to that of China.
So, Ethiopia will have to seek ways to nourish highly-skilled workers who are worthwhile getting high salary.

Why do we have to pay attention to medical AI?

edition.cnn.com

If you don't have serious disease, you don't have to see a real doctor and can rely on artificial Intelligence.
That's because it won't cause fatal accidents, even if AI diagnosed incorrectly.
But, it's dangerous to depend on AI, when you have serious disease. It's likely to result in fatal accidents, if AI leads false answer.
Based on them, we should install AI diagnosis for casual patients to reduce burden of doctors.

Why won't be shipping by ship fastest way?

www.railwaygazette.com

Trans-Siberian Railway is expected to extend to Sakhalin Island across Tartar Strait, and then is planned to extend to Japan's Hokkaido beyond La Pérouse Strait. If this railway opens, shipping time will be drastically minimized.
But, the problem is that almost all the freights on rail in Japan are transported with 1067mm gauge, while Russian freights are transported with 1520mm gauge rails. It means there must be gauge-changing point or the place to load or unload feights is needed.
I'm interested in where such points will be placed.

Why is it possible to get a girlfriend high in the sky?

1 in 50 people finds love on an airplane, study claims
https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/fall-in-love-airplane/index.html

I've never heard someone has found a friend on board. Rather than that, I often hear complaint about other passengers.
However, I've talked with neighboring passengers on board. I'd like to tell you some experience.
When I flied to Taiwan by Jetstar, neighboring passenger couldn't buy beer, because he couldn't convey what he wanted to do in English.
Then, I played a role as a translater.

The second one is the moment I went to United States via Seoul. Neighboring passenger told me how he earned in Korean casino. Then, he was also about to "earn money"

If you have an interesting episode on board, please share it.

Why are autonomous cars still unsafe?

Toyota and Uber to develop autonomous cars
http://www.metro-report.com/news/business/single-view/view/toyota-and-uber-to-develop-autonomous-cars.html

Judging from the fact that most of the railways around the world have not yet been automated, it's more difficult to expand autonomous cars.
Unlike railway systems, vehicles have to decide which directions they want to drive.
It's not only the problem with vehicles, but also the problem with signalling systems that has to be improved.
For example, brightness of each signal differs. It may cause the problem that engineers can not decide minimum brightness to respond automatically.

It seems to be a long way before commercial use of autonomous cars.

Why are elderly people focused by weird people?

Japanese retirees in big demand as labor crunch worsens

Since life expectancy is becoming longer and longer, retiring age will be higher and higher.
But, we have to pay attention to opinions like "Abolish minimum wage to hire elderly people more easily" or "Shall we hire retired people as volunteering staffs".
As is often the case with Japan's main politicians or presidents of big corporations, they would like to lower average wage of Japanese workers to avoid inflation to make their savings relatively higher value.
So, they are unwilling to raise salary.

We mustn't be deceived by those people.
