Why can't they extend beyond border?

Ontario to establish High Speed Rail Planning Advisory Board
http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/high-speed/single-view/view/ontario-to-establish-high-speed-rail-planning-advisory-board.html

The high speed rail terminates near the border between US and Canada.
If it's extended from the border to Detroit or Chicago across the border, it will be the Second international high speed rail in North America.
The first one is the Pacific North West Corridor, connecting Vancouver and Portland.

Why do they restrict private cars?

Private car growth in Singapore to stop
24 Oct 2017
http://www.metro-report.com/news/news-by-region/asia-pacific-ex-china/single-view/view/private-car-growth-in-singapore-to-stop.html

Basically, developing countries restrict private car use, after chronic traffic jam does harm on economic activities.
But, Singapore takes advanced measures against traffic jam. Before causing serious traffic jam, Land Transport Authority predicts possibility of traffic jam and restricts car use.
Singapore has long installed ERP, automatic toll gate systems even on ordinary roads. The country has a good command of diverting people into public transportation.

Why isn't it grotesque to eat what you are seeing

Europe's first underwater restaurant to open in Norway

I think that it would be suffering to see fish when eating fish. On the other hand, I've heard that there is a pasture which domesticate cows, and provides a restaurant serving beef. So, the restaurant boasts "You can enjoy seeing cows from the restaurant while eating beef."
Why don't they think it would make us feel pity?

Why is it attractive to live in a functional house, but in countryside?

Jikka, the fairy tale dwarf home for Japan's seniors
http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/jikka-japan/index.html

Facilities themselves are good enough. But, when it comes to accessibility to hospitals, supermarkets, and public transportation, it won't satisfy seniors from mega cities.
Designers have to think about how to push these functions into narrow space to sell them around big cities at affordable price. Then, accessibility to public facilities would be improved.

Why isn't it a competition between 2 rail operators?

FACTSHEET: DOWNTOWN LINE 3 TO OPEN ON 21 OCTOBER 2017
https://www.lta.gov.sg/apps/news/page.aspx?c=2&id=5c4e424c-1a46-44cb-92d0-212e37a2b6df

Extended section of Downtown Line runs parallel with East-West Line. While East-West Line was constructed as a part of SMRT, Downtown Line has been constructed as a part of SBS Transit.
So, I wonder if there is a competition of getting more passengers between SMRT and SBS Transit in Downtown-Tampanies Section.

Why is it allowed to earn money by such a way?

Is this lost city a glimpse into the future?
http://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/wonder-list-bill-weir-egypt/index.html

I've heard that there are people who make livings by finding jewelleries sunken in the sea and selling them.
But, in terms of archaeology, it's not better to allow them to earn money like that.
Each country has to enforce laws to ban selling unearthed materials except for crops and metals.

Why isn't it going well to hire more women in Japan?

Debt, old age, stagnation: Japan's economy faces huge challenges

At the last part of the article, boosting female recruitment is written.
But, shabby Japan's companies would cause other problems.
Some examples of them are harassment against pregnants, rejecting giving paid holidays for female workers who are to bear a child.
As a result, Japan will face more serious low fertility rate.
