The current Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel has the speed limit of 30 mph (48 km/h). It's the extreme curve for Acela Express.
So, alternative tunnel should be built soon.

(Summary of the article begins)
211 series trains that used to run on Tokaido Line were sent to Sangi Railway. Among SNS, it's rumored to be aimed at Sangi's taking over of the trainsets.

Sangi Railway owns Sangi Line(Tomida - Nishi-Fujiwara) and Hokusei Line(Nishi-Kuwana - Ageki).
The latter is 762 mm gauge line. Sangi Line has trains bought from Seibu Railway. It's rare to see JR trains.

2 trainsets each of which consists of 3 cars were sent to Sangi Railway. Those used to run in Shizuoka.
Sangi Railway authority says 211 series trains arrived at Tomida on March 20, and are staying there now. At this moment, no detail was disclosed.

If it's aimed at Sangi's taking over of the trainsets, it's the first case that 211 series trains are taken over to regional railway companies.
(Summary ends)

I guess railfans are looking forward to seeing new color of the trainsets in Sangi Railway.

As I mentioned a few months ago, Sacramento is the city where California High Speed Rail is expected to be extended. After extension, there will be much more demands of LRT in Sacramento.

Air flights between North America and South East Asia tend to be the longest flights. But, on the intermediate point, Hawaii is located.
So, I wonder why it's not common to launch flights between South East Asia and North America via Hawaii.

Toyama is suffering from competition with high speed rail, and Nanki-Shirahama is also suffering from competition with Osaka/Kansai International Airport.
So, direct flights from Seoul must be important for them.
