Why is the Toilet Giant evaluated?

How Japan's music-playing, water-spraying TOTO toilets took over the world
http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/toto-on-japan/index.html

Multi-functioning toilet is useful.
But, it's not the only benefits TOTO has. The company invented environmentally favored features like toilets using less water.
When a toilet in my house was replaced with the latest one, I found that the flush system was changed from the conventional drop-in type to Tornado Flush type.

I would like the company to invent much more sophisticated toilets.

Why don't they abolish bad habits?

www.japantimes.co.jp

I take it for granted that Japan's companies are not attractive for foreign workers.
Is it possible for you to imagine the horrible world listed below?
・In drinking sessions, freshmen are supposed to order what their boss want to eat or drink. Otherwise, they will be aversed or slapped
・Most of the workers are forced to work overtime. In some cases, freshmen are supposed to work overtime without salary
・Highly skilled workers are made fool of by blue-collar workers.
・Those who said their opinions to their boss are demoted.
・Workers who often change their job are supposed to be betrayers, and then would be difficult to find new job.
And so on

Without changing this environment, it's hard to lure talented workers from the other countries.

Why don't you ride a newly launched express?

(Translation from the article is below)

After spring in 2020, Tobu Railway annnounced operation of express serivice between Funabashi and Unga via Kashiwa on Tobu Noda Line, nicknamed "Tobu Urban Park Line". After timetable revision on March, 2016, Express service began between Omiya and Kasukabe.
Though most of the train operations are separated at Kashiwa, the newly launched express will run through Kashiwa.

Tobu Corp. annnounced the document named "Tobu Group Mid-term Plan" on November 10. It's the summary of the current situation of the plan announced on April this year. And, it introduces the improvement of rapidity of Tobu Urban Park Line, including double tracking between Mutsumi and Sakasai.

Though aging society and low fertility rate have been issues in Japan, Population in Tokyo Metropolitan Area is estimated to increase even in 2020.
So, railway companies in the area still intend to strengthen infrastructure.

Why is it necessary for rapidly growing cities to build public transportations?

Ole Scheeren unveils plans for a spectacular 'sky forest' in Vietnam
http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/ole-scheeren-empire-city-vietnam/index.html

Vietnam seems to be building more and more skyscrapers along with economic growth. But, how about transportation networks?
Though subway lines are under construction in Hanoi, there isn't urban rail system nor BRT(Bus Rapid Transit) system in Vietnam.
In order to live up to demands of those buildings, public transportations must be prepared proportional to urbanization.

Why are they treated so differently?

What it means to be a mixed-race model in Japan
http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/rina-fukushi-japanese-hafu-models/index.html

What made me laughed is that CNN acknowledges "Hafu", which Japanese people intend to pronounce "Half".
How biracial actors or actresses are treated depends on their ancestrals' nations.
If they are in Europe, American, or Australian continents, they won't be backlashed. But, if they are in Korean Peninsula, they have to pay attention to their behaviour.
When they talk about political issues lied between Japan and South or North Korea or are rumored to have done bad things, they will be enemies of Japanese citizens especially on the internet.

So, it's difficult to generalize how foreigners are treated in Japan.

Why do you all move?

How Sweden's arctic 'millipede town' Kiruna is slowly moving
http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/sweden-kiruna-relocation/index.html

I've heard some cases that residents in a town have to move due to natural phenomenon.
For example, Centralia in the state of Pennsylva became ghost town, because of coal mine fire, which has been burning even now.

Almost all of such cases have happened in countryside.
But, when it comes to megalopolis, it would be serious and it will be impossible to move all the buildings to alternative place.

Why are elephants killed?

Elephant Nature Park: Chiang Mai's most responsible animal sanctuary
http://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/elephant-nature-park-chiang-mai/index.html

Ivory is rumored to be the key to save elephants. Japan imports ivory to use it as a material of signature seals.
Though I don't know how other parts of the killed elephants are used, Japan should use alternative material to make signature seals, if elephants are regularly killed only for getting ivory.
