Why ideograph is reviving again?

edition.cnn.com

Ideograph was once treated as inefficient language. In Japan and China, some people advocated abolishment plan of Chinese character, but failed.
On the other hand, in Vietnam and Korea, Chinese characters were publicly abolished due to its difficulty to learn.
But now, after development of computers and IT, defects of Chinese character were mitigated. For example, the number of chinese letters was a big issue in the era of typewriter. But, after invention of electric keyboard, it was solved. And furthermore, compared with English or any other phonograph-based languages, we can convey something with shorter sentences by Chinese letters than by alphabets.
Because of the same reason, Emoji created buzz around the world.
