The more complex rail network becomes, the more difficult it would be to find the shortest way to destination.
So, it 'has been' important to draw route map so concisely as to let passengers understand more easily.
Why did I use 'has been', instead of 'is'?
That's because we no longer need to plan routes by staring route maps. Instead, Google map can provide us with the most appropriate routes in most cases.
