It is ironic that Mecca, the first city in Saudi Arabia that began operation of the subway system, is followed by Riyadh, though the subway in Mecca just runs around rural desert area. That indicates how many Moslem visit Mecca as pilgrims.
Except for Turkey, subway system is under developing stages in Middle East countries. I expect the metro in Riyadh will grow larger than that of Istanbul.
