Islam is often seen as the religion that conflicted with Christianity. There has been a lot of wars between them in the history. Then, it's important for both of them to show no intention to invade each other. For example, Pope's visit to Gulf nations would be much more meaningful to let moslems know what the leader of Christianity thinks.
