Why is it important to make sure of chronological age in Japan?

You have two ages, chronological and biological. Here's why it matters

According to this article, chronological age means nothing, especially in Europe. It just means a human has seen what kind of history.
On the other hand, chronological age in Japan means everything. That's because elderly people are definitely repected at all times.
If you look older than real chronological age, strangers in your generation would talk with you respectfully.
