Abuja metro starts operation with diesel-hauled trains

I've never heard that electrified metro line began operation by diesel trains, due to insufficient electrification.
But, I'd like to evaluate that the authority decided to begin train operation without putting off opening date.
There are many African cities where there is not a tram system, even though they are highly populated area.
