Factors that can be problems in driverless trains are high speed, long distance, and long trains.
In this case, speed is not high. But, the others are the big issues. The railway company seems to have solved them by installation of monitoring cameras.
In addition to that, there would be few crossings along the line, due to low population density. That may be less dangerous for driverless trains.
