Why we all need green in our lives

We often hear that green is good for our eyes. But, I've never heard the theoretical reason. As well as the linked article above, no article on the Internet refers to it, while the article says hypothesis and phenomenon related with it.
I'd like to know what kind of chemical reactions are happening on our eyes, while we see green scene.
Though I don't know the true reason, if it's because human beings have long grown up in forests, human beings in the far future are healed while watching smartphones?
