Is it unfortunate to live in smaller home?

We often hear "I wish I could live in a big house like that!"
Is it true that to live in a big house is ideal idea?
Surely, we can't tolerate with being crammed in a house which has only one room and its length is shorter than our bodies.
But, living in a big house also has inconvenience.
First, it will take longer time to clean and reach objective rooms.
Second, big house can easily be a target of thieves, because it's a symbol of the rich and bigger house gives them more options to enter the house.

Living in smaller homes can lower those risks and save money.
