Politicians are not in good terms with academic people?

As well as Trump's budget cuts to agencies funding scientists' work, the Japanese minister*1, Yamamoto said "curators in domestic museums are like cancer. They are obstacles to promote tourism."
And, Toru Hashimoto, the former governor of Osaka annnounced merger of 2 public universities, because he regarded it's vain to maintain 2 public universities in one prefecture.

It's important for mankinds to grow scientists or people who can think about things scientifically. I wish there wouldn't be politicians who want to control our lives only by emotional motivation.
