I went there by car with my family. Though our final destination was Hirugami, we dropped in at Magome, which had been a part of Nagano Prefecture until the merger of Yamaguchi village and Nakatsugawa city. But now, it is in Gifu Prefecture.
Magome is famous as a relay station on Nakasendo, which was a secondary main ancient road between Tokyo and Osaka.
After that, we passed through Enasan tunnel*1 and stayed at a hotel in Hirugami.
